What happens during a Home Health Check?
FAQs
Will I get an EPC with my Home Health Check?
No, your Home Health Check will give you useful information that will help you understand the energy performance of your home, but you won’t get an official Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
If you would like an EPC or need to update your EPC, then please book our HHC +EPC offer where we will combine both surveys saving you money by just having one assessor visit your home.
Can anyone book a Home Health Check?
We're currently only able to offer a Home Health Check if you own the home that’s being assessed.
Will it be a British Gas engineer who carries out the visit?
Not currently. Just like you, we're on a net-zero journey, which is why we've partnered with third-party experts. Your Home Health Check will be carried out by an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor who’ll work to the highest standards.
Will a Home Health Check help me if I’m struggling to pay my energy bills?
Your Home Health Check will give you advice on energy consumption and efficiency, ranging from free tips and minor investments to large-scale home improvements.
Will I have to carry out my assessor’s recommendations?
Not at all. We’re just there to give advice and make recommendations – what you choose to do afterwards is entirely up to you. But we’ll be ready to help you take the next steps, whatever they might be.
